Recycling Program

801 Grand has successfully implemented a building-wide single-stream recycling program.  Single-Stream (also known as "fully commingled" of "single sort" recycling refers to a system in which all paper, fibers, plastics, metals, and other containers are mixed in a collection truck, instead of being sorted by the depositor into separate commodities (newspapers, paperboard, corrugater fiberboard, plastic, glass. etc.) and handled separately throughout the collection process.  In single stream, both the collection and processing systems are designed to handle the fully commingled mixture of recyclables, with materials being separated for reuse at a materials recovery facility.  All single stream items can be placed in the blue containers located within the tenant’s space. If additional blue containers are needed, please contact the 801 Grand Management Office at 515-244-7801.

A single stream dumpster is located at the 801 Grand loading dock directly adjacent to the cardboard recycling container. Each container is clearly marked as cardboard or single stream.  Heritage Building Services has been trained to place all items located in the blue bins in the single stream container on the loading dock.  If you have cardboard that needs recycling, please fold the cardboard down and place the cardboard next to a trash can or in the freight elevator vestibule.  Heritage will place all cardboard that is folded down and located next to trash cans or in the freight elevator vestibules of each floor in the identified cardboard dumpster.

Detailed instructions for our single stream recycling program can be found by contacting the 801 Grand Management Office.

Thank you to all tenants for their participation in this program.
